Our Story
PLUMR is owned and operated by Alex Malkaya, a fully licensed Interprovincial Journeyman Plumber with over 7 years of experience in the trade. Alex began his plumbing apprenticeship right here in Hamilton, Ontario, learning the trade from the ground up in his own backyard.
When the pandemic hit and work slowed down in Ontario, Alex made the tough decision to head west to Victoria, BC, where construction was still going strong. He spent three years out there, working full-time while finishing off his schooling — a tough grind, balancing long days on site with classroom hours, but one that paid off in the end.
That hard work earned him his Red Seal certification, and today he’s back home in Welland, running PLUMR with the same dedication and work ethic that got him through it all. You’ll still find Alex on-site for most jobs, making sure every customer gets reliable service, honest advice, and work done right the first time.
